Why this page exists

Privacy policies usually read like they were designed to be skimmed badly and trusted reluctantly. This version keeps the same legal substance, but presents it with enough hierarchy that you can actually find the answer you came for.

Use the sections below for the detailed version, or the navigation rail to jump straight to retention, security, deletion, or GDPR rights.

Section 1

01

What We Collect

The main categories of information used to operate accounts, publishing, subscriptions, support, and safety tooling.

We collect information needed to run accounts, publishing, paid features, moderation, and support. The list below covers the main categories.

  • Account details such as your email address, username, profile details, and login-related records.

  • Content you create or upload, including stories, comments, messages, profile text, and support requests.

  • Usage and device information such as browser type, IP address, approximate location, page visits, referring URLs, and interactions with the site.

  • Transaction and subscription records when you make purchases or manage paid features. Payment card details are generally processed by our payment providers rather than stored directly by us.

  • Safety, moderation, and diagnostic data used to detect abuse, investigate reports, and keep the platform reliable.

Section 2

02

Why We Process Personal Data

Personal data is handled only when there is a service, contractual, legal, safety, support, or consent-based reason.

Personal data is processed only where there is a service, contractual, legal, security, support, or consent-based reason for doing so.

  • To provide the service you request, including account creation, login, publishing, reading, and community features.

  • To perform our contract with you when you use Minkly and any paid services or subscriptions you choose.

  • To comply with legal obligations, including fraud prevention, tax, copyright, and law-enforcement related requests where required.

  • To pursue legitimate interests such as platform security, abuse prevention, product improvement, analytics, and customer support.

  • Where required, to rely on your consent for optional communications or similar consent-based processing. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Section 3

03

Sharing and Service Providers

The limited cases where information may be shared with infrastructure, payment, email, moderation, analytics, or compliance partners.

We may share personal data with vendors that help operate the platform, including hosting, analytics, error monitoring, payment, email, storage, moderation, and customer-support providers. We may also disclose information when necessary to enforce our terms, protect users, prevent fraud, or comply with legal obligations.

Section 4

04

Cookies, Analytics, and Diagnostics

How browser storage, diagnostics, and analytics help keep sessions working and the platform improving.

Minkly may use cookies, similar technologies, analytics tools, and diagnostic services to remember sessions, understand product usage, improve performance, and investigate outages or abuse. You can manage certain cookie settings through your browser, though some required site features may stop working if those cookies are disabled.

Section 5

05

Data Retention and International Transfers

How long information may be kept and why processing can involve providers in different countries.

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the platform. Because service providers may operate outside your country, your information may be processed internationally using appropriate safeguards where required.

Section 6

06

Security

Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are used, with the usual real-world limits.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Section 7

07

Children's Privacy

The service is not intended for children under 13, and reports of child-submitted data should be sent directly to support.

Minkly is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us in violation of applicable law, contact support@minkly.io.

Section 8

08

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar privacy protections, you may have the following rights:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Request deletion of your account or personal data, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
