Humanity has finally reached the stars, over the last few hundred years we have explored the cosmos and encountered other sapient alien species and formed a great Union. The Sapient Congressional Union. The years have not been kind to the aging SCU however. The once-great goals of peace and unity have slowly been abandoned in the face of the immutable flow of time, the dream of a billion conscious minds slowly lost to insipid corruption and the stagnation of crushing bureaucracy. Amongst this pervasive decay are the many large cities spread across the colonised planets of the Union. On the world of Jarillo, in the megacity of Cheenha, organised crime runs rampant and even the beleaguered forces of her militarised police are nearly incapable of maintaining peace and order amongst the chaos. Amongst all this pervasive corruption and crime there are those that do the dirty work in the name of justice. Some that are willing to brave the darkness to let in the light. These void wardens are often powerful individuals that work around the edge of the law without directly crossing it, most of the time anyway. Trained killers and bloodthirsty mercenaries, they are often recruited from the cream of the scum that rises to the top of this perpetual hive of villainy and lies. When the world is so full of darkness, even the light of a single candle can be blinding.
