Synopsis

Twenty-one and dead. That’s how Leon Stevens’ adult life began, flattened by a drunk driver on his birthday. He expected nothing after death, but instead woke up in a crypt surrounded by bones, claimed by Cassandra Betravia, a necromancer who thinks of him less as a person and more as a “test subject.”

Now Leon’s soul is jammed into the body of a once-famous adventurer, and Cassandra is holding the leash. If he disobeys, she ends him. If anyone else discovers what he is, they’ll burn him. His cover? Pretend to be a new adventurer and take on “quests” that just so happen to serve Cassandra’s hidden plans.

Leon wanted adulthood, not undeath. But if sarcasm, quick thinking, and a little reckless magic keep him alive long enough, maybe he can find a way to turn being a pawn into something more.
